Beauty and Butter Nail Salon (Fairview Terraces)

When I came back to teaching, often I found myself more fulfilled and satisfied than when working other jobs. There are always something different in being able to live as a teacher. But, aside from that, stress and “haggardness” often come my way. I realized that I often use my fingers to type my lesson plans and write on boards for my students but my nails started to feel the lack of TLC. I decided to go to a nail salon to get my nails the love they deserve. After years of experimenting, I finally found a nail salon I can call my favorite. I went to Beauty and Butter. There are a lot of good nail salons in the Philippines but I love Beauty and Butter because: HYGIENE! No doubt in my mind that the tools used on me are safe and sanitized. They will never use an unopened tool set for you. Place. They have branches in Metro Manila and the one I am closest to is in Fairview Terraces. Very convenient. Plus the interior is beautiful. Staff. Very polite and well-trained.

*IM*Patiently Waiting for the Apple Watch Series 4

Image
I got my first Apple Watch early 2016. It was the first generation Gold Aluminum in Sports Band. I loved it since the day I got it and am still wearing it until today. I never bought Series 1-3 because, they are expensive. And why would I buy a new Watch if mine still works? I’ve worn my Series 0 Watch while running, walking, biking, sitting in the movies, used even while sleeping, one time I also swam with it. It was such a part of my day that I jumped on a pool without even realizing I was still wearing it. Yep, it survived almost 10 minutes of swimming. And it still works! I read and sometimes reply to text messages on my Watch; control my music; use for timers; reminders; motivation to stand and move; BREATHE app; 7-minute workouts; I’ve done LOTS! But, granted the time it served me, I only get 9-10 hours of battery life a day.  I wear it in the morning at a hundred percent, come home, place the Watch in the charging station while I sit, eat, do my lesson plans, check som

Apple AirPods A Year and A Half Later

Apple AirPods was announced in late 2016 in the US but I got mine early 2017 And I’ve used them every single day since. I don’t leave without them, I don’t enjoy walking outside without them, I don’t talk on the phone without them, I don’t run(fast walk) without them and most of all, I don’t listen to my songs without them anymore. Hopefully, for the next Apple event, they will announce a new pair of Airpods because mine are starting to wear. I can only get 2-2.5 hrs of music time on the right ear. I’ve been itching to get a new pair but I don’t want to waste my money on a soon to be obsolete device (if Apple hopefully decides to announce a new one). Tripping down memory lane, I remember how people ridiculed the aesthetic, price, and overall APPLENESS of AirPods. Tim Cook said in an interview before the launch of iPhone 7 and AirPods that they are going to give us something we need that we don’t even know we needed it. At first I thought he was talking about iPhone 7 beca

My Experience with Measles

Chicken pox, measles, sore eyes, mumps. Those are just a few examples of diseases that Pinoys wound up getting atleast once in our lives. Well, we only get them once, so...... As of writing, I am recovering from Measles. I don’t know exactly how I got them because I am not aware of an outbreak from where I live and work. According to adultvaccination.org : “Measles is a highly contagious virus found throughout the world. People get measles by breathing in the measles virus that is spread when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. You can get measles just by being in the same room with an infected person. “ Grabe, ang shakeet, I got the disease by just being in the same room with an infected person and worse I might have infected someone without even knowing. I first felt the symptom Thursday afternoon while going back from work. I didn’t know what was wrong with me but I felt my entire body was aching. I had a suspicion that I was had fever but my body ach

Kerastase Oleo Curl Cream for Digi Perm

Image
After more than a year of donning my straight hair, I’ve finally decided to go curly again. Since there’s a (i think) permanent digi perm promo at David’s Salon, I mustered up courage to go and have my hair permed again. And since most of my hair is “virginly” dark, I decided to get my hair colored as well. Good thing I bought drinks and sandwich before going to David’s because I was sooo deeply seated in my chair for SIX hours!! When I was getting my hair permed, the lady at the reception talked to me and tried to sell me lots of expensive stuff as after care products for my hair. I know Kerastase is a well-known and well-loved brand so I was really tempted to buy their entire Oleo-curl line but I know I would be able to eat and breathe for a whole month if I buy everything. So, I just settled for the leave-in cream which costs around 1.7php. (Shakeet besh!)  All in all, I spent around 8.5k for my hair styling for that afternoon. 2,500 hair color 3,999 dig

iPhone X a few months later

iPhones have come a long way since it was first introduced to us in 2007. It was the  "IT" phone for a long time and really changed how users operate smartphones. Being a young teen in 2007, I could only wish for it. The first iPhone I ever owned was an iPhone 4s in 2012, and I’ve been using Apple phones exclusively since then. 2017 marked the 10th year anniversary of the phone that changed the smartphone industry. Two—(three?) iPhones were announce— iPhone 8, 8+ and X.  I thought iPhone X should’ve been celebrated a lot when it was announced but with a price tag of $999 for a 64 GB model, I found it a little bit ridiculous. But, hey, it’s an iPhone and it’s the 10th year anniversary phone, I’m bound to fall in love with it >.< (yup, I’m a fangirl) Months came and the rich early adaptors were uploading unboxings and review videos on YouTube and I just grew more and more in love with it. I set my mind earlier this year that I would just skip on the $999 ph

Belo Glutathione with Collagen

I love online shopping, I love sales more, much better, online discount sales online. I was able to stumble on a 50% off sale of Belo Glutathione with Collagen on Lazada, back in February. I immediately bought 6 bottles of 30 caps and 2 bottles of 60 caps for a whopping Php 7020. Medyo masakit sa wallet, but atleast I have a premium product good for five months for half the price :). Years ago, I tried this brand already and it did really great for my skin. But, I stopped using any oral supplement since 2016 so my body had to get used to taking oral gluta again. During the first few weeks, my skin started to break out a little and my body hair grew a little faster (I think) but after the first month, my skin started to be clear and my over all complexion started to improve. I even get some compliments especially when I go out in the morning that I started glowing and my skin look pinkish. I am now on my third month of using and I have to say that my skin just keeps on improving.

Ho do you vlog?

I always wonder how do vloggers talk to their camera whenever they are outside. I bring my cam whenever I go out but I just can't talk to it... >.<

Jobstreet Now Offers Special Page for Home-Based Jobs

There are a lot of Filipinos, like myself who are shifting from a 9-5 corporate job to a more flexible time and schedule. Kaya good news sa mga online freelancers, according to an article , Jobstreet now has a special page for home-based jobs. I think it's really nice na parang nagiging "mainstream" or accepted na ngayon as "real jobs" ang home-based jobs. They are not just freelance or sideline na pang dagdag sa income but almost comparable na din ang sweldo whether you work in an office or sa bahay.

REVIEW: Colourette Colourtint Lip and Cheek Tint

Image
Yehey! 2018 na! Since this is the first blog post of the year and I want to look back and start a NEW make up review. That’s why I decided to review a wonderful product na naenjoy ko talaga. It's the COLOURETTE Colourtint, a lip and cheek tint na oil based. I was not very familiar with this product when I bought it pero since I was buying gifts sana, na-sight ko sya and VIOLA! I bought a couple and kept one shade for myself. What I have is the Evee shade. Sa tingin ko kasi yun yung pinaka match sa skin tone ko. Well since this is a "review" I want to tell you how I feel about the product. Ang pigment besh! Mas colorful pa sa love life ko. Lasting power nya is powerful Talaga. Kung yung iba, nagfade na lang at nag laho, ito may staying power. Hindi sya nahirapang magblend at pakisamahan lahat ng obstacles ko sa face :x All in all, I think. sobrang sulit nya. At PHP 250.00, cheap lang yung price pero ang ganda ng results. In fact, ginamit ko sya
