Beauty and Butter Nail Salon (Fairview Terraces)

When I came back to teaching, often I found myself more fulfilled and satisfied than when working other jobs. There are always something different in being able to live as a teacher. But, aside from that, stress and “haggardness” often come my way. I realized that I often use my fingers to type my lesson plans and write on boards for my students but my nails started to feel the lack of TLC. I decided to go to a nail salon to get my nails the love they deserve. After years of experimenting, I finally found a nail salon I can call my favorite. I went to Beauty and Butter. There are a lot of good nail salons in the Philippines but I love Beauty and Butter because: HYGIENE! No doubt in my mind that the tools used on me are safe and sanitized. They will never use an unopened tool set for you. Place. They have branches in Metro Manila and the one I am closest to is in Fairview Terraces. Very convenient. Plus the interior is beautiful. Staff. Very polite and well-trained.

*IM*Patiently Waiting for the Apple Watch Series 4

Image
I got my first Apple Watch early 2016. It was the first generation Gold Aluminum in Sports Band. I loved it since the day I got it and am still wearing it until today. I never bought Series 1-3 because, they are expensive. And why would I buy a new Watch if mine still works? I’ve worn my Series 0 Watch while running, walking, biking, sitting in the movies, used even while sleeping, one time I also swam with it. It was such a part of my day that I jumped on a pool without even realizing I was still wearing it. Yep, it survived almost 10 minutes of swimming. And it still works! I read and sometimes reply to text messages on my Watch; control my music; use for timers; reminders; motivation to stand and move; BREATHE app; 7-minute workouts; I’ve done LOTS! But, granted the time it served me, I only get 9-10 hours of battery life a day.  I wear it in the morning at a hundred percent, come home, place the Watch in the charging station while I sit, eat, do my lesson plans, check som

Apple AirPods A Year and A Half Later

Apple AirPods was announced in late 2016 in the US but I got mine early 2017 And I’ve used them every single day since. I don’t leave without them, I don’t enjoy walking outside without them, I don’t talk on the phone without them, I don’t run(fast walk) without them and most of all, I don’t listen to my songs without them anymore. Hopefully, for the next Apple event, they will announce a new pair of Airpods because mine are starting to wear. I can only get 2-2.5 hrs of music time on the right ear. I’ve been itching to get a new pair but I don’t want to waste my money on a soon to be obsolete device (if Apple hopefully decides to announce a new one). Tripping down memory lane, I remember how people ridiculed the aesthetic, price, and overall APPLENESS of AirPods. Tim Cook said in an interview before the launch of iPhone 7 and AirPods that they are going to give us something we need that we don’t even know we needed it. At first I thought he was talking about iPhone 7 beca

My Experience with Measles

Chicken pox, measles, sore eyes, mumps. Those are just a few examples of diseases that Pinoys wound up getting atleast once in our lives. Well, we only get them once, so...... As of writing, I am recovering from Measles. I don’t know exactly how I got them because I am not aware of an outbreak from where I live and work. According to adultvaccination.org : “Measles is a highly contagious virus found throughout the world. People get measles by breathing in the measles virus that is spread when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. You can get measles just by being in the same room with an infected person. “ Grabe, ang shakeet, I got the disease by just being in the same room with an infected person and worse I might have infected someone without even knowing. I first felt the symptom Thursday afternoon while going back from work. I didn’t know what was wrong with me but I felt my entire body was aching. I had a suspicion that I was had fever but my body ach
